Sole F80 Upgraded Motor Control Board (2004 - 2009) 110v

Question

Q: I have a sole F80 treadmill, We could smell a burned rubber smell. I opened the cover to expose the motor and circuit Boards. What I found was the positive terminal had burned off the board. What are my options here ?

Q: I have a F80 Order Date: 30/12/2008 Order #20090106123408 Shipped Date: 20/01/2009 Serial number: 5808880812009125REV-02 It seems i need to replace the control board. what is the correct control board for my model? what is the "upgraded" means?

Q: Per YouTube videos I believe I have a bad motor control board. I've replaced the low speed sensor, deck and belt, but I still get an error code LS1. There is an error LED that lights on the control board when the LS1 message appears. Due to the cost of a new motor control board, I'd like to know if there is a way to definitively check the old board to ensure replacing it will solve my problem. Please advise.

Q: How do I know what board I need for my F80? I dont know what year I bought my F80. Is there anyway to ID the different boards other then year of manufacture? I want to make sure I get the right board for my F80 so it will work again. Thanks

Q: It sounds like I’ll need a new motherboard for my Sole F80 2011 treadmill (thank you for previous answer!). Is there any functional difference between the board that’s in there, the ‘upgraded’ board here, and the aftermarket board? My board has “?612-100816020/700, a barcode, BD3423000440, and YJ-2300L” on the printed label if that suggests one or the other should work. Also, it looks like most of the connector wires and headers are glued together (presumably to manage against them coming loose from vibrations). Any tips to getting them apart without damage? And do I need to glue in the new one? Thank you - Getting ready to order but want to get the right one!

A: You will need to replace both the board and the burnt wire. Now this is not common on the 2006 - 2009 models. Can you please send me an email with your serial number? [email protected]

Hello Either one of the 2 below will be fine. The upgraded one is the most up to date version. The Original was was made in 2008 and in the past 16 years alot has improved.

If its a low speed error with no belt movement at all, it is 80% the controller and 20% chance the drive motor. The only way to test is by replacing the controller with a new one. Start with a controller because there is no restocking fees when returning a controller. Motors have a restocking fee to return.

Hi Nate,
Those are really great questions. All 3 controllers will work just about the same and so far the original and the upgrade ones seem to work perfect for all our customers. The aftermarket will require some torque adjustments which can be a little challenging, but a lot of customers have been able to do this just fine. I personally would recommend this one since its the exact controller that came with your treadmill (base on your bar code number). I normally use a box cutter to cut off the glue or you can break it apart with needle nose pliers. You don't have to glue the plugs again. I haven't in 19 years and I have yet to see one come apart.
