Replacing the resistance motor on a 2016 E55 is a manageable project, but it does require accessing the internal drive system.
Access the Drive: You will need to remove the plastic side shrouds using a Phillips head screwdriver.
Cable Tension: You'll need to unhook the steel tension cable from the old motor and attach it to the new one. Pro Tip: Note the exact position of the cable nut before removing it to keep your calibration close to factory settings.
